Based in San Francisco, the "new" Silicon Valley, I strive to live by the innovative and open spirit that defines this bustling ecosystem. I am an Epicurean philosopher at heart, valuing diverse perspectives and cultures, and celebrating the combined individuality that makes shared vision our future reality.

I'm also an immigrant, bringing a touch of Australian charm. I'll spin you a yarn or two if you ask me: fending of crocs in Far North Queensland; motorcycling through the Serengeti alongside wild hippos; or bike-packing above the clouds on Mt. Tam.

Founding MARVIN Labs in 2020 my team and built and patented the world's first commercial system for automating asbestos and mold analysis by robotic microscopy. Our tech combines state of the art deep learning techniques and models with our own first-principle design robotic microscope that can be used to automate tests across healthcare, agriculture, environment, and resources.

My Companies & Projects

As CEO of MARVIN Labs I've led the development and commercialization of MARVIN Lens, an IoT robotics platform for automation of commercial microscope analyses. MARVIN automates asbestos and mold testing, a commercial market of 50 million samples per year ($500M TAM). A single minimally trained operator together with MARVIN can perform the work of 10x highly trained analysts.

20Mish Co-Living

In August 2023 I joined 20mish, a tech oriented 40 room co-live on 20th and Mission St right in "The Arena". 20mish is now my passion project to take this house back to its former glory for AI instead of Web3.

I love throwing events to bring energy to our community. In my first month in I threw a 500 person fundraiser/recruitment which raised $5000 for the house, recruited 8 new housemates, and was the best party in SF that night! I also run bi-monthly Cinema & BBQ nights with our very own outdoor IMAX setup. Follow 20mish on Instagram to stay updated.

Unmanned Surface Vehicle

As a team of three undergraduate students we built a small autonomous water vehicle that achieved Level 2 autonomy in just 7 months. I was primarily responsible for the overall system design and contributor to the software design of the system. The project was highly successful, being the first vehicle developed by undergraduates to achieve autonomy and won Best Systems Engineering Project at the University of Adelaide annual engineering conference (MechExpo, 2014)

Automatic Beer Brewer

I commissioned a group of six undergraduate engineering students to design and build the World’s first fully automated syrup based beer brewing machine. The machine with a 20L capacity is capable of brewing beer in under 2 weeks, and manages every process from fermentation through to chilling and service. Coopers Brewery released a similar powder based brewing system in 2016.
